Renew a Computer's IP Address

Have you seen this page before? "Page Not Found" when you are browsing the internet. I'm sure that the first think that you do is to check your modem, and you see that everything seems to be working, and then pick up the phone and call to customer service. Often you can solve the problem by renew your computer's IP. Lets see how to do it.

How to do..

At first go to the Run, by clicking on the Start button and choose it, if it wasn't there, search Run on the search box.

In the Run type cmd and then click OK. Now you see a windows like Dos operating system which is call Command Prompt.

Type ipconfig/release and then press Enter. After Enter type ipconfig/renew and press Enter.

Now you have a new and fresh IP addresses.

1. Type "ipconfig /release" and press "Enter." This releases your computers current IP addresses
2. Type "ipconfig /renew" and press "Enter." This assigns your computer a new set of IP addresses.
3. Type "Exit" and press "Enter" to close the window. You computer now has a new IP address.
